Notes It was stated at the end of the chapter on the sheen with the yā’ (The first volume of Al-Gharibīn was completed, with the praise of God and from Him, and it is followed in the second volume and what follows it, The Book of Al-Sād, at the hands of Masoud bin Ali bin Zafar bin Ali bin Al-Hussein bin Al-Fadl, the writer, on the first ten days of Jumada al-Akhirah in the year five hundred and sixty-three AH (the date is mentioned on page 285). It was stated at the bottom of the page, in a handwriting different from the original, the following: (Know that the writer and transcriber of this book is the writer Masoud bin Zafar, the author of the book Silwan Al-Mut’a (Hajji Khalifa; Kashf Al-Zunun, p. 998) is a gentle writer who has not been heard and has become widely known. He has collected wondrous tales, wonderful examples, and good, not reprehensible, sermons. Mercy on him, let him review “Tamm.” And it came at the end of Bab al-Saad with the hamza at the end of the volume (Tamm is the first part, which is the half of the Book of Strangers of the Qur’an and Hadith, and it is followed in the second half by the book al-Dad, Bab al-Mu’adid with the Hamza, praise be to God Almighty). At the end of the month of Shawwal in the year 1156 AH (the date is mentioned on the last page of the manuscript) and may God’s prayers and peace be upon Muhammad and his family).
