Notes - It is a large history that began in the year two hundred and ended in the year seven hundred and ninety-two. - This second section deals with (it deals with the events of the years: a continuation of the years 514 - 560 AH) - The author is the jurist of the Levant in his time, its historian, and its scholar. From the people of Damascus, “He was known as the son of Qadi Shahba because his grandfather’s father - Najm al-Din Abr al-Asadi - served as a judge in Shahba (from the villages of Hauran) for forty years.” He dealt with fatwas and teaching in Damascus. He became a judge in the year 820 AH, then rose to the presidency of the judiciary. He took over review of al-Maristan al-Mansouri in Damascus. He wrote a number of works. - Its translation and effects in: (Dr. Saladin al-Munajjid: “The Damascene Historians.” And their manuscript works”: “Journal of the Institute of Arab Manuscripts” 2 [Cairo - May 1956] pp. 124-125), and the various references mentioned that dealt with his news and works. - From Al-I’lam, a copy in: 1- Faydallah, No. 1403, in his handwriting. 2- Cobrelli, No. 1027 3- Paris, No. 2074, and an illustrated copy in the Egyptian House of Books, No. 392, see: Dr. Salah al-Din al-Munajjid: (“Journal of the Manuscript Institute” 2: 125). - Volumes three and four, with its four sections, including this second section, illustrated on microfilm in the public treasury in Rabat, from a written copy in the Khair al-Din al-Zirkli treasury - in Cairo.
