The book begins by mentioning Adam and the first prophets, then it recounts the story of our master Abraham and his migration, the story of the Kaaba, and mentions Ishmael and the Suleiman Wall. Then it talks about Isaac, Joseph, Lot, Shuaib, Moses, and David. It then mentions the building of Jerusalem at the hands of Solomon, and the history of Solomon until his death, then it mentions the wonders of Jerusalem and its destruction at the hands of Bukhnezzar, and reviews the story of Christ and his ascension, and the descending of the table. Then he mentions the destruction of the Second Jerusalem and its architecture, and after that he sympathizes. On the appearance of the Arab Prophet, peace be upon him, and the story of the ascension and journey to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the hadiths and sayings mentioned about it. Then he mentions the conquest of Jerusalem during the caliphate of Omar, the description of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the notables of the followers and scholars who entered Jerusalem, and the Crusaders’ victory over Jerusalem, and its recovery at the hands of Al-Nasir Saladin. He then goes on to mention his conquests and his struggle with the Frankish Crusaders until his death. He resumes mentioning Al-Aqsa Mosque, and talks about its arm and its parts. And its gates, then he mentions the schools of Jerusalem, its gates and neighborhoods, and the Muslim notables who ruled over it, until the days of the Turks during the era of Sultan Murad Khan in the year 883 AH. A second part written by another author is appended to the book to continue the history of Bayt al-Maqdis and the Shafi’i scholars who entered it and the princes who ruled it until the year 920 AH. The book was printed by the Wahhabi Press in 1283 AH, and a French translation was published in Paris, with the care of the orientalist Henri Sauver, in 1840 (Sarkis). There are other copies of it in: Dar Al-Kutub Al-Misria 9 history, 7 AD history, and Paris National 5759, 4922, 1682 - 1671, 5998, 6303 history - and 275 Bib.
