It is an explanation of the book (Nuzhat al-Nazar fi Qalam al-Dhubar) by its author, Shihab al-Din Ahmad Ibn al-Hashim al-Maqdisi. See Guidance for Students on the Arithmetic Method No. 1. The commentator explains the rules of the book al-Nuzha, explains its main points, and demonstrates its comprehensive issues. He made it an insight for the beginner, and a reminder for the intermediate and advanced, saving them from reviewing other books of arithmetic. The end of it is an appendix in which it is mentioned that he began this book on the 7th of Dhul-Hijjah in the year 889 AH. Its pages are framed in red. The numbers and the heads of the phrases were written in red. He left a margin of 4.5 cm wide, with some explanations.
