Notes
On its margins and between its lines are numerous explanations and comments, in fine handwriting. At the end of folio 34, he concluded it in “the great school attributed to our Lord, the owner of good deeds and good deeds and those who have benevolence and blessings, who dispenses with prolonging verbal praise because his traces and the bounty of his bounties in the east and the west are visible, I mean Suleiman (he is Suleiman Pasha al-Babani, one of the most famous princes in the Babani emirate. He ruled for about fourteen years intermittently, from 1160 to 1163 and from 1164 to 1174 and from 1175 to 1177 until his death in the year 1178 AH). May God keep his shadow and guard in life, and forgive us and him in death, on the 27th of Ramadan of the aforementioned year, in Golan Castle.” Golan Castle is: the ancient center of the Babani Emirate in northern Iraq before the establishment of the city of Sulaymaniyah in the year 1199 AH.
