Notes
The copyist wrote the titles and names of the narrators in clear black throughout the text and in the footnotes, on a newly made inscription, bearing an interview dated Monday 2nd of Safar in the year 1348 AH by Muhammad bin Yusuf al-Sorti, on a copy copied in the year 636 AH. It includes some corrections from the interview, some explanations, and some comments. The first and last is the seal of Habib Kanj’s library. This copy of ours was described in the Aligarh Catalog: Descriptive Catalog 2/366 with the same preservation number. Copies: One copy is in the Leiden University Library, and another is in the Arif Hekmat Library. See: Brockelmann Appendix 1/617.
Sample Text
Some of the brothers - may God protect them - asked to follow the example of the predecessors and hadith narrators we have preceded in compiling a book that includes the names of the narrators and hadith scholars from the people of our country, Isfahan, to those who narrated it, and to add to their mention those of the judges and jurists who preceded it.
