After the basmala and the praise: It was narrated on the authority of Ibn Abbas, may God be pleased with him, that the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “One day while I was sleeping between Safa and Marwah, Gabriel, peace be upon him, descended upon him in the form of the one in which God had created a wing in the east and a wing in the west. He ran to me with his foot and said to me, ‘Get up, O Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him. You are sleeping, and your Lord does not sleep. Put on your clothes, tighten your garment, and bring your heart with you, for you will be speaking to your Lord on this night’.
