Manuscript written by the author; A poem in 20 lines. The first verse: Leave the annoying blame behind and let go of the reproach*** and listen to the wondrous matter. The last verse: By God, it is right for us that we *** throw all the dirt on our heads. It was stated in the footnote: “The poem was written in the poet’s own hand, and he recited it in our house at the party that was held to reconcile him with Professor Al-Zahawi, on December 8, 1928.” Subhi (He is Mahmoud Subhi bin Fouad Al-Daftari. He was born in Baghdad, in the month of Rabi’ al-Awwal in the year 1307 AH (= January 14, 1889 AD) and died there on Friday, Muharram 17, 1400 AH (= 7 January 1979 AD). His translation and news, in (Al-Baghdadis: Their News and Councils, pp. 109-110), (Amanat Al-Asimah Magazine 4 [Baghdad 1978] issue 18, pp. 42-47, entitled “Names Baghdad Knows: Mahmoud Subhi Al-Daftari”). It is an illustrated copy.
