This book is also called Tafsir al-Tabari. It was printed more than once, the last of which was in Cairo in 1970 AD in 16 volumes, edited by Ahmed Muhammad Shaker and reviewed by Mahmoud Muhammad Shaker. The author was born in the year 224 AH/839 AD in Amal, Tabaristan, and settled in Baghdad. He is an interpreter, historian, and scholar of readings. The judge was offered to him, but he declined. Among his works are: The History of the Messengers and Kings, known as the History of Al-Tabari, The Difference of Jurists, The Guide to Religious Sciences, Part of Belief, The Difference of the Jurists, the Book of Taxes, and the Rulings of Warriors. Al-Tabari, in his interpretation of the Noble Qur’an, was the stepson of Yahya bin Salam Al-Tamimi Al-Basri, who died in the year 200 AH/815 AD, in the method of archaeological interpretation.
