Notes The title was mentioned in the manuscript, but it was not the original. - I was responsible for its investigation: Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Douri, and: Dr. Abdul-Jabbar al-Muttalabi, and published it under the title: “News of the Abbasid State” and “Containing News of Abbas and His Son” by an author from the third century AH (from a unique manuscript from the library of Abu Hanifa School - Baghdad) (Dar Al-Tali’ah for Printing and Publishing: Dar Sader Press - Beirut 1971, 480 pages). Dr. has elaborated. Al-Duri in the “Introduction” regarding this book and its author. He was previously introduced to this manuscript in (“Journal of the College of Arts and Sciences” 2 [Baghdad - June 1957] pp. 64-82). Abdel Fattah Al-Sarnjawi wrote a chapter regarding this manuscript: (Al-Azhar Magazine 24 [Cairo] Part 1, p. 11 et seq.). - What was mentioned in Al-Fatihah is the first part of it, which is a chapter entitled: (The Death of Al-Abbas bin Abdul Muttalib, may God be pleased with him) - This chapter mentioned in the conclusion is followed by a list entitled: “Histories of the Caliphs from the Banu Umayyads”, then another list entitled: “Histories of the Caliphs from the Banu Al-Abbas, may God be pleased with them”. It ends with the date of the caliphate of Al-Musta’sim in the year six hundred and forty. Then the Abbasid Caliphate in Egypt begins: with the date of the caliphate of Al-Hakim by God’s command, Abu Al-Abbas Ahmad, in the year sixty-one. Six hundred and ends - in this list - with the date of the succession of the Imam who trusts in God, Abu Abdullah Muhammad, in the year seven hundred and sixty-three. These two lists have no relation to the original book, as they are a late addition. The copyist has omitted in the two lists the names of some of the caliphs - the first page A and B: in each of them is written: “A book containing the news of Al-Abbas” and “his virtues and virtues” and “the virtues of his son and their virtues”... May God be pleased with them all.” - A photocopy of the text, from a unique handwritten copy in the Public Endowments Library, in Baghdad. The copy was previously in the bookstore of the Abu Hanifa School in Adhamiya - Baghdad. See: (“Discovery of the Manuscripts of the Endowments Book Stores,” pp. 342-343, No. 10204, serial 3614), and (“Index of Arabic Manuscripts in the Public Endowments Library in Baghdad” 4: 216, No. 6653).
Sample Text He said: Othman came to see Al-Abbas during his illness in which he died, and he said: Recommend me what will benefit me, and provide me with provisions, and he said: Adhere to three qualities.
