Notes	The manuscript does not have its title or the name of its author. Most of its pages are framed in red. The text is decorated with red dots, and in its margins there are corrections, comments, and transcription differences. On the title page is a scratched phrase, perhaps: “The books of the poor Abd al-Rahman,” and on the page is the word “value,” which perhaps means the price of the book, but what follows it is perforated, of which the number 2 or 3 remains.

The book of clarification, which was compiled by the scholar and investigator Jalal al-Millah al-Din al-Qazwini, known as the preacher of Damascus, and which he conducted in the form of explanation for his translated summary, “Bi Tkhlass al-Muftah,” is a book for your age, comprehensive of the foundations of the science of meanings and its branches, sufficient for whoever has mastered it to gain insight into the secrets and subtleties of eloquence.
