Author: Abu Bakr bin Muhammad Al-Qalusi; (Al-Abbas bin Ibrahim mentioned in Al-A’lam that Abu Bakr Al-Qallusi was one of the sheikhs of Abu Al-Abbas Ahmad bin Al-Banna Al-Azdi Al-Marrakshi (2: 203). Notes	The author arranged his book into three sections, in which he describes different methods for making ink of various colors and types, the types of writing in gold, silver, and copper, and how to dissolve these metals for use. The book also provides practical information about erasing ink, removing any grease or syrup that gets on clothes, and provides information about manufacturing dyes that are suitable for silk and linen or that are used to dye machines and utensils. The author dedicated his book to one of the ministers who mentioned him in the book’s sermon, but its features were blurred, and all we could see from it was: Abu Abdullah... Abu Yahya or Ibn Yahya.
