Notes
They are three quintiles for the poem marked with the round stars in praise of the best of the wilderness, known as the poem Burdah, which begins: Who reminds neighbors of Dhul Salam *** mixed with tears that flowed from an eyeball with blood, composed by Sharaf al-Din Abi Abdullah Muhammad bin Saeed al-Busayri, who died in the year 696. He mentioned in the verses [29a] that he composed it in the year 588, as he mentioned in [28a] as well. The quincunx is followed by verses in addition to the original - the beginning of the first quincunx:
God knows the pain in the heart
And who is in love with entrails and who is sick
On the separation of a group that settled in the Haram - and the beginning of the second Thursday:
What's wrong with your heart that keeps hurting?
On the agate is an undecided agate
So I said when my tears fell with harmony - and the beginning of the third quintile:
Since the people of fever, milk and knowledge
And your tears fell in harmony
I left Tayyab al-Kari at night and did not sleep. The verses of the original poem are written in a larger font, with three verses on each page, the middle of which is written in red. The verses of the quincunx are written in italics on the pages between the verses of the original, and the middle line is always written in red.
