Notes The author began the history of Iraq since Iraq entered Muslim possession, then dealt with the construction of Kufa, Basra, and the ruins of Al-Hirah and Wasit. Then he mentioned the construction of the city of Baghdad and Samarra, and quoted most of what historians wrote in describing Baghdad. Then he dealt with Baghdad’s architectural landmarks, including bridges, baths, palaces, markets, shops, and rivers. Then he discussed the villages surrounding Baghdad, its suburbs, and most of Iraq’s cities. This book is also known as the history of Baghdad, which consists of three parts, the first part is the news of Baghdad and the second part is about the biographies of its men in the 12th century AH and the 13th century AH, and it is called Al-Misk Al-Adhafar, and the third part is called the mosques of Baghdad. This copy includes the first part. At the end of it are additions to the original copy mixed with the original, starting from page 225, which fits page 265 of the first copy numbered 6287, and this copy ends with the Iraqi tribes who converted to Shiism. The copyist copied this copy from copy numbered 10146, but he did not complete its copying.
