It was stated at the beginning of the manuscript (written by the eminent scholar Marouf Effendi). It was stated at the top of the page: (...this auspicious and essential book contains a history of the conditions of Egypt, its kings, its Nile, and all the wonders therein). The first manuscript contains indexes of contents. Summary from the book Al-Muqrizi Plans. It was stated at the end of the manuscript: (The completion of this auspicious book has been completed on the first of Jumada al-Awwal of the months of the year two hundred and twenty thousand AH) followed by: (And among those who meditate on this book, one of those with understanding, should fold away the defects he finds in it, and turn away from it a page of what has been copied on a sick, defective, sterile copy that can hardly be produced with the pollen of literature and whose virginity does not reveal the vigor of youth... even if the literary examiner finds a defect. Pardoning him is more deserving and worthy of glory, and I am the one in need of God, the Mighty, Muhammad al-Fahmi al-Mawsili.)
