Othman bin Muhammad, known as Ibn al-Hajib (d. 646 AH/1249 AD), wrote “Al-Kafiya fi al-Nahwah.” Then Issam al-Din al-Isfaraini (d. 944 AH/1536 AD) came and explained it in a book he called “Al-Fara’id fi al-Nahwah,” and this is a footnote to Issam al-Din’s footnote. Some additions and comments in the margins.

The creation of man is a quotation from the Almighty’s saying: “The Most Gracious (1) He taught the Qur’an (2) He created man (3) He taught him the statement (4)” And in His saying “He taught him the statement (4)” the ingenuity of the introduction, for the metaphor section is one of the doors of the art of statement, and statement is eloquent logic.
