Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds... God Almighty said [the month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for mankind]. He called the month a month because of its fame, and from it is the month of so-and-so... Ibn Abbas and Ibn Shihab, may God Almighty be pleased with them, said: If the month of Ramadan comes, it is opened.
