Notes
On the title page of Tuhfat al-Bariyyah, with the solution of the words of the Ajārūmīyah, a note says, “Then I saw written on a copy, the scholar Jamal al-Din Yusuf al-Nahāwī al-Lughī.” It states that the author of this book, as known from another copy, is Yusuf al-Nahāwī, and we cannot infer an author. The copyist wrote the word “saying” in red ink to distinguish the beginnings of the original text of the Ajārūmīyah, then follows it with a text from it and its explanation.
Sample Text
After the Basmalah, praise be to God who raised the status of those who steadfastly worshiped Him... As for what follows: This is a nice explanation of the introduction by Sheikh... Muhammad bin Dawud Al-Sanhaji, known as Ibn Ajrum.
