Notes
They are selected poems, pieces, and individual verses by poets from the Abbasid eras and the following late eras. It also contains prose chapters. The compiler has divided it into the following chapters: 1- [The first chapter in which we mention something of what was said about the Beloved]. 2- The second chapter contains some quotations. 3- Chapter Three, in which we mention some puns. 4- Chapter Four, about praising generosity and courage and what was said about them. 5- Chapter Five: On the character of the vineyard and its greenery, the black and white grapes, the arish, and what was said about it. 6- [Chapter Six: The description of wine, its colours, and the cupbearer and his qualities]. 7- Chapter Seven, in which we mention the names of the wines that are specific to them and the praises for them. 8- Chapter Eight: On drinking fruits, perfumes, and blood-curtains, and what happens to them, and what comes from them. 9- Chapter Nine: On the characteristics of boys, their names, their different colours, their crafts, and their different genders. It is most likely that there was a tenth chapter that was omitted from the end of the book. The chapters are written in red, and the phrases at the beginning of the poems are sometimes written in red and sometimes in green.
