Notes The copyist wrote the text entirely in black ink, and used red ink to write the titles on the footnotes and book symbols, on a newly made inscription, with a stamp at the beginning with the name of Abu al-Fayd Muhammad Yusuf and a purchase record written by Muhammad Abd al-Hay stating that he bought this copy at Bab al-Salam from the gates of the Grand Mosque in Mecca in the year 1292 AH. Copying it: For its copying, see Brockelmann 2/225 and its appendix 2/315, and there is a complete copy in the Mecca library. Sample Text As for what follows, the humble servant Mahmoud bin Israel, known as my father and my heavenly origin «fn¬1»/fn¬, may God forgive his faults and not hold him accountable for his failure, says: When I looked at ((the two chapters)), one of which was by Muhammad bin Mahmoud al-Ashtrusni, and the other by Imad al-Din, may God make them dwell in the paradise of Paradise and cover them with mercy and contentment.
