Sample Text
Know that the doctrine of the Sunnis and the community is that a person has the right to dedicate the reward for his work to others, be it prayer, fasting, Hajj, charity, reading the Qur’an, dhikr, or other types of righteousness, and all of that reaches the deceased and benefits him. The Mu’tazilites said that he does not have that and does not reach him due to the Almighty’s saying, “And that for man is nothing but what he strives.” Malik and Al-Shafi’i said that this is permissible in charity, financial acts of worship, and Hajj, but it is not permissible in other acts of obedience.
