Notes
The author begins his book with a prayer for Sultan Mawla Ismail, then with two poems that he composed in praise of him. Then he addresses twelve contemporary Moroccan writers and poets with whom he came into contact, most prominent of whom are the jurist Ahmad ibn Abd al-Hay al-Jali, Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Qasim ibn Zakur, Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn al-Tayyib al-Marini, Abu Abdullah Muhammad al-Arabi al-Musharrafi, Abu Abdullah al-Ghazali al-Andalusi al-Malqi, and the minister and writer Abu Hafs. Omar Al-Harrad Al-Hasani, and Abu Al-Abbas Ahmed Dadush, and he talks extensively about them, paving the way for a description of each of them with an encouraging preamble in the style of the “Necklaces” biographies, and mentions many of their compositions, prose, news, shrines, and benefits. Then the book concludes with a conclusion in which he presents some observations and comments about these writers whom he spoke about. “Al-Anis Al-Mutrib” was printed by Al-Hajar Press in Fez in the year 1305 AH/1887 AD.
