Praise be to God, whose names are sanctified, and prayers and peace be upon our Master Muhammad... When I saw a group of eminent scholars taking care to collect the names of the Badr Companions... especially the professor Sheikh Abd al-Latif al-Shami... he compiled a beautiful collection, most of which he picked from the scholars of tradition... and arranged them according to the letters of the dictionary and the last names of the famous ones... I diverted my effort towards... coordinating them in the screed of the supplicant.
