As for what follows: Since the science of rhetoric and its subsidiaries was considered a valuable part of the sciences... and the third section of Al-Miftah Al-Ulum, which was compiled by Al-Fadil Al-Sakaki... was the most useful of the well-known books he had compiled, because it was the best arranged... but it was not protected from tautology and length, and was subject to abbreviation... I wrote a summary containing the rules it contained... and I named it: Summary of Al-Muftah.
