Notes It was dictated in Jumada al-Thani in the year 1284 AH. It begins with a mention of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and the Rightly Guided Caliphs, then talks about the Berber tribes, then the Arabs’ conquest of Cyrenaica and the Maghreb, and the Muslim governors that followed it. It then deals with the Idrisid state, the first, then the second, then the Sanhaji states, then the Almoravids, then the Almohads, then the Banu Marin state, and the news of Andalusia, and the Kingdom of Granada until its end, etc. It occurred from the Portuguese assault on the Moroccan shores, then it deals with the state of Beni Wattas, then the state of the Saadian nobility, then the state of the Sijilmasian nobility, with elaboration on the news of Sultan Moulay Ismail, and reviews the mention of its kings until the accession of Sultan Abdul Aziz at the end of the year 1311 AH. In all of this, the author relies on continuous quoting from various references by the great Eastern and Moroccan historians, such as Ibn Khaldun, Ibn Khallikan, Al-Maqri, Ibn Al-Khatib, Ibn Abi Zara’, Al-Fashtali, Al-Yarni and others, and he hardly says anything of his own, although it can be said that it is the only book that brings together the countries of the Maghreb from beginning to end on one level, and during its talk it reviews all the sources of Moroccan history. This book was mentioned in: Brockelmann: S. II 888. and P. Boigues 421.
