Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds... As for what follows, I mentioned in this book the regions of the earth according to the kingdoms, and I meant by them the countries of Islam by detailing their cities and dividing what is attributed to the collected works, and I did not mean the seven regions to which the earth was to be divided, but rather I made each piece that I separated into a separate individual that tells the location of that region, then I mentioned the places surrounding it.
