The author is a trustworthy Hafiz who narrates the topics. He was born in the year 336 AH. Al-Dhahabi said about him in “Al-Sir”: “He is the imam, the trustworthy Hafiz, the scholar, Sheikh Al-Islam... a trustworthy scholar of this art. I do not know of a sin of his - and God will pardon him - greater than his narration of the hadiths included in his collections, and then he is silent about making them weak.” I said: And his example in memorization is many!
