And after: When I looked at the books written in the countries and regions of the earth, from the mountains, seas and other places, I did not find in them a book that fulfilled my purpose. Among the books that I came across in this art was the book of Ibn Hawqal, which is a lengthy book in which he mentioned the characteristics of the countries in detail, but he did not specify the names, and he also did not mention the lengths or widths.
