Notes
The author wrote the book “The Explicit Research into What is the True Religion” after he converted from Christianity to Islam, and sent it to one of his friends (Abu Ibrahim Al-Hadidi Al-Manea), who read the book and asked some of the questions that are the focus of this book. The manuscript contains the letter that Al-Hadidi sent to the author, the author’s response to it, and a letter of thanks from Al-Hadidi’s letter to the author after he read this response.
Sample Text
(Paper 9a) Know, O you who are reading this book, that the reason for its writing is that its author, the late Sheikh Ziyada bin Yahya al-Nasab al-Rassi, may God bless him and make Paradise his abode, had sent a book to a man of his companions from the Christian sect, “The Clear Discussion into What Is the True Religion.” When he read it and his mind was amazed by it, this man sent a written letter to the Sheikh, may God Almighty have mercy on him, revealing his situation.
