Notes
This first part deals with the Arab conquests of Africa, then its Muslim governors and princes, the establishment of the Aghlabid state, then the Banu Ubaid state, the entry of the Idrisids into Morocco and the establishment of their state there, and the establishment of the Berber states of Banu Manad, Zenata and Sanhaja. Then it mentions the character of the island of Andalusia, its conquest at the hands of Moses and Tariq, and its first Muslim governors, then the arrival of Abd al-Rahman ibn Muawiyah to it and the establishment of the Umayyad state there, and after that it deals with the princes of the Banu Umayyads. Successively, he mentions their news, wars, and invasions, and their struggle against various revolutionaries, then the establishment of the caliphate at the hands of Abd al-Rahman al-Nasser, the era of his son’s rule, the rise of al-Mansur ibn Abi Amer, his seizure of the state, and his news until his death in the year 392 AH. Ibn Adhari sometimes classifies his narratives in the manner of chapters, and other times in the manner of annual annals, and he mostly adheres to neutrality in citing incidents and presenting people. This book was mentioned in: Brockelmann: S.I 577. and G.I. 537 and General Rabat 200 and 366 K. and P. Boigues 414.
