It is also a summary of Al-Nawawi's previous book Al-Irshad. The text in it was written mostly in black ink, and the copyist used red ink to write the titles in a thicker font than the pure text. Copies: This copy of ours was described in Aligarh Index 2/121, descriptive catalog with the same preservation number, and five copies are in the Central Library at Imam University, numbers: 4733, 4528, 2101, 4971, 1955, including a copy in Al-Dhahiria 129 and another in Jester Beatty in Dublin.

For the knowledge of hadith is one of the best ways to be close to the Lord of the Worlds, and how can it not be... a book that I have shortened from the book of... the master memorizer and investigator, Othman bin Abdul Rahman, known as Ibn Al-Salah, may God be pleased with him. I will exaggerate it in its brevity, God willing, without prejudice to what is intended.
