Notes It includes three sections, the first of which deals with the mention of the conquering king, Moulay Muhammad bin Abdullah, and his biography among his subjects. The second deals with his departure from the presence of Marrakesh to fight the Portuguese, and how the Muslims fought and besieged them by land and sea. The third deals with the entry of Al-Barija (which is later known as El Jadida). The author notes the generous nature of Sultan Moulay Muhammad and his preference for justice. Then he mentions his warning to the Portuguese that they must pay tribute if they wanted to remain in Al-Barija, otherwise he would evacuate them from it by force of the sword. Then he mobilized his forces when the enemy rejected his warning, and his march to Al-Barija and tightened the siege on it until the enemy’s resistance collapsed, and they asked for safety and to leave with their children to their country. The Sultan agreed, and gave them three days to leave, so they left. The ships of their country carried them, and the Muslims entered Al-Barija and found it empty. The Sultan and his crowd returned and entered Marrakesh in triumph, in the month of Dhul-Qa’dah in the year 1182 AH - 1768 AD.
