Praise be to God who sent down the Book to His servant and did not make it crooked, and made relief for its reader and follower from every distress. Glory be to Him, I cannot count His praise... And then: Then the poor servant says to the pardon of his honorable master, Abd al-Fattah bin Ibrahim al-Maliki.. The first thing on which I spent my troubled thoughts was to improve the words of the Great and Most High God. That is why I wanted to gather in it a great deal so that I and the reader of it would thus have a great reward.
