We praise You, O You who have enlightened our chests with the knowledge of the knowledgeable people of faith... As for what follows, Al-Muftaqir says to his master, Abduh Ahmad Al-Afnani, in the Hanafi lineage, in the Naqshbandi Mujaddidi school of thought, in the Peshawari way, in our homeland: When I saw most of the people taking risks in their speech, taking the initiative in denouncing the people of Islam... I wanted to compile a letter containing the sayings of the jurists and theologians from the followers of the four schools of thought, detailing in it the agreed upon and different points of view. In it, and what is more preferable and preferable for fatwa and judgment, I explain in it correcting the word “heretic,” clarifying its precise meaning, and giving preference to the wisdom of the truth with acceptance that conforms to the rules and conforms to the principles, as a terminology for the two parties, and removing the disagreement between the two parties.
