Notes
The manuscript is a research into the science of medicine and its parts in a question-and-answer manner. One of the first pioneers of this method in Arabic was Hunayn ibn Ishaq. For example, in the author’s definition of the heart, he says: It is two cavities, one on the right side and contains more blood than the soul, and the other on the left side and contains more soul than blood, and from it the arteries originate. He also discusses the seasons, food, veins, arteries, bloodletting, cupping, fevers, gynecological diseases, vermin prey, and colic. I saw a copy of it at the National Library in Beirut.
