The wise philosopher Abu Hanna ibn al-Christi, may God sanctify his soul, said: The question: How many parts is medicine divided into? Into two parts. What are they? Healthy people maintain their health with things that are similar to them, and treat sick people with things that oppose their diseases. What is health? Moderate mood. What's wrong? Get out of moderation. What are objects made of? Of fire, air, water, and earth. What are bile, blood, and phlegm like?
