Notes
The author was born in Sabk, Egypt, in the year 683 AH/1284 AD. He moved to Cairo, lived in the Levant, and became the judge there in the year 739 AH/1338 AD, the Sheikh of Islam in his time, and one of the memorizers and commentators. He was the son of al-Taj, the author of “Al-Tabaqat.” Among his works are: Al-Durr Al-Nazim fi Al-Tafsir, Al-Ibtihaj fi Sharh Al-Minhaj, Mukhtasar Tabaqat Al-Fuqaha’, Al-Kafiya fi Al-Iqidan, and others.
