Notes Fragmentary face in yellowish marble, possibly from a statue of Zeus or more probably Serapis. Eyes deeply set under heavy brows. Open mouth with moustache. Fine workmanship. Condition: Very fragmentary and mutilated. Probably reused anciently for another purpose. Oblong socket in center of forehead probably cut when fragment was reused. Nose badly battered. | more | less
