The historical part begins with the mention of the kings who reigned in Egypt before the flood, and ends in the year 1063 AH. The work is divided into twenty chapters, the list of which is placed at the end of the preface. Beginning: الحمد لله الذى فضل بعض البقاع على بعض و زادها شرفا و تبجيلا. M. de Sacy gave an analysis of this work in the first volume of Notices and Extracts, p. 165 et seq. (The surnames البكرى الصدّيقى are explained by “descendant of Moḥammad Baker (الباقر) and Djafar Sadik”.)
