Tables set up, it is said, by the caliph Abou Moḥammad (sic) ʿAbd Allah al-Maʾmoûn, son of Hâroûn al-Raschîd, to make known in advance the outcome, good or bad, of a project that one wishes to execute. The work is made up of several circles, a few tables relating to the planets and the stations of the moon, twenty large circles with radii, covered with inscriptions, and several columns of couplets taken from the works of the great poets, among whom the author includes, despite the anachronism, Al-Motanabbî and Al-Ḥarîrî.
