Digitization carried out from a substitution document: R 27335. Cf. Persian 55. Anonymous and undated copy. Copy of the volume (qism) V. Lacunar (of some of the chapters which precede the story of the birth of Genghis Khan, as well as the chapters on the events occurring in Nayšābūr and in Harāt), this volume is also incomplete from the end (it is interrupted during the chapter entitled Ẓikr-i Fāṭima Hātun).It is on this ms. that was copied in the 17th century, while it was in the library of B. d'Herbelot, the copy of Antoine Galland, currently listed Persian 104 [see this ms.]. On f. 1 are copied twenty Persian bayt taken from various masnavī and recounting the loves of Laylà and Mağnūn and Šīrīn and Farhād. In the margins of f. 27, 27v and 35v, brief annotations are perhaps in the hand of Eusèbe Renaudot. Ms. very likely reported in Italy in 1608, upon returning from his trip to the Orient, by G.B. Vecchietti. It appeared in the library of B. d’Herbelot (1625-1695), who is said to have brought it from Florence, then in that of Abbot Eusèbe Renaudot. He bequeathed it (see the label stuck to f. 1v) to the Abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Prés in 1720. Scanning from a substitute document: R 27335.
