مễابارم رزمنامه مهابارت Scanning carried out from a substitution document: R 176965. Scanning carried out from a substitution document: R 176966. In this example, f. 3v-14v, the preface (Dibāča) [comp. ms. S.P. 1038, f. 1v-11v], written in 995H./1587 by Abū l-Faẕl b. Mubārak, which preceded the translation of the work whose execution Akbar had ordered from 990H./1582 [and of which a luxury copy intended for Akbar is kept at the Jaipur Museum]. This preface is followed here by a table of the chapters of the work (f. 14v-15v) and (f. 16) by a text containing verses of praise addressed to the emperor Šâh Ǧahān (1627-1658). The translation itself appears a somewhat modified version of the Razmnāma as it had been translated for Akbar under the direction of Naqīb H̱ān (comp. ms. S.P. 1038). It was probably carried out during the reign of Šâh Ǧahān. The 18 fann (or parb) of the work begin respectively on f. 16v, 89, 113v, 186, 200v, 237, 262v, 291v, 317, 330v, 333, 338v (fann comprising a second part f. 388 and a third f. 410), 579v, 668v, 755v, 774, 779v and 781v. We encounter the same pieces in verse as in the translation of 1582-7. The editor appears to be the copyist himself.
