Šayh Maḥmūd Nav‛ī Habūšānī (compare Persian Supplement 563,II and 810,XXXVI).Incipit f. 1v Explicit f. 20 Other copies at the BnF: Persian supplement 788 (XI and XIX), 1072, 1089 (V) and 1366 (f. 384 sq.). The ms. also contains five paintings [which J. Otter's notice assures were created by the painter Muḥ. Šafī‛ ‛Abbāsī for Šāh ‛Abbās II; none, however, is signed or dated and, moreover, ‛Abbās II, in whose service Muḥ was actually. Šafī‛, only reigned from 1642; see also I. Stchoukine, The Paintings of the Manuscripts of Châh Abbâs I at the End of the Safavis, Paris, 1964, p. 153-4, etc.]. These are: 1).- F. 5 (80 x 173 mm) “Prince Dānyāl is on his throne and receives homage from the poet Na‛vī”. the princess's husband: four men carry his coffin, accompanied by mourners and a torchbearer. 4).- F. 15 (82 the remains of her husband. This ms. was acquired by Jean Otter in Iṣfahān between July 1737 and April 1739. A notice signed by Otter was inserted after the 4th guard. Sent by him from Basra in 1740 for the B.R. [this is No. 18 in the list of ms. sent on this date, cf. H. Omont, French archaeological missions in the Orient in the 17th and 18th centuries, Paris, 1902, II, p. 761-765].
