Above and below, two lines of a Kufic inscription. Horizontal band, in multicolored silks and linen, decorated with three medallions, two with a red background and one with a blue background, each containing a griffin. In the spandrels a double scroll pattern is outlined on a blue background. Above and below, two lines of a Kufic inscription; on one side, bismillah ("in the name of God"), on the other, the date 448 (from the hegira = 1056). Fragment of tiraz, embroidery which adorned the robes of honor offered by the sovereign.|
