Notes
Semi-italic corrections through interline additions. The course of writing in the Old Uyghur
Reverse differs from that on the Chinese obverse. The paper became
Transcript rotated 180°. After the fourth line, some lines are left blank.
A new text begins from the fifth line. However, the writing style remains the same.
The Brāhmī script used (for individual terms with Sanskrit origins) is in the
Uyghur lines integrated. See also BT 38, 297 and BT 38, 10-13. A single dot was used for punctuation. — black — Uyghur script → Cursive script — paper — Unidentified Buddhist text. The text is about the desire for
the redemption from saṃsāra. A teacher is also mentioned by name (Altuig. ačari ary-a budataz). This text may be a vow. See further
BT 38, 297. The text of the present fragment corresponds to lines KL01-12 in the
Edition BT 38.
