Notes
Elaborately designed Ḥilya in the late Ottoman style. cardboard with a blue outer edge,
then a double gold frame filled with an orange-red embossed colored paper
is. Unvan with the Basmala on the upper part. Two vases with floral decorations flank
a floral heart-shaped pattern that continues in the lower part of the hilya. Up
the middle part the description of the prophet in an egg-shaped frame, which is from
surrounded by the names of the four rightly guided caliphs. On the lower part continued
the description, here in a rectangular frame. Three cartouches in the lower part
with name of the calligrapher and date. Font is gold framed and with tiny
Dot stamps provided. — black, gold, blue, red — paper — Description of the external and internal properties in calligraphic form
of the Prophet, based on the statements of Muhammad's son-in-law and cousin 'Alī
ibn Abī Talib. In Ottoman times, such Hilyas were popular as wall decorations.
The creation of at least one Hilya was a compulsory exercise for everyone
Turkish calligraphers.
