The string at the left side is provided with a wooden hook, by which the ms. was suspended
on a peg or a rafter in a Balinese home. (cf. Schoem. III 6). without boards — palm leaf — Episode of the Malat Kung Javano-Balinese romance in tengahan metre, see Pigeaud §
30.360 (Lit. of Java I, p. 206). The text contains descriptions of beautiful attire,
as is usual in Malat romances. The plot of the episode is one of the numerous fights
of the Panji which recur in endless variety. At the end the Balinese copyist begs
forgiveness for his bad writing. No date is mentioned. The text contains several grammatical
Balinisms (verbal suffix -in instead of Javanese -i).
