| Notes | Disc present in the Pathé publisher's catalog "2nd supplement to the Moroccan Directory [of] Pathé Aiguilles discs (25 cm double sided, electrically recorded)" from July 1930. The disc label mentions the town of "Souss" and specifies that the content of the disc is in the Chleuh dialect, noted "chleux" on the label. The first two minutes of the record include a sort of spoken introduction, the laughter in the background suggesting that the content is humorous. Thereafter, a short sung part follows with percussion accompaniment. The presence of ululations in the recording indicates the presence of women in the troupe. Several clues suggest that it could be a theatrical troupe. |
