On both sides of the disc, the word "مشرقي" is spelled as "مشرڧي". The disc is present in the Pathé publisher's catalog "Moroccan Directory of Pathé Records" from 1912. A second Pathé publisher's catalog "Moroccan Directory of Pathé Records", dating from 1926, also mentions the record. Both catalogs associate the artist's name with the city of Tangier. Complement and spelling variant of the artist's name: Mohamed Bennani accompanied by Tayeb Elmasmoudi. The recording date, mentioned in this notice, only concerns side B of the disc (n°10908), given by one of the artists after the song was finished, it was originally pronounced under the Muslim lunar calendar namely: 1328/26/جمادى الثاني. |
