Date of work: 16th century (commenced 912 [1506]; dedicated to Babur, Timurid prince, later Emperor of Hindustan (1483-1530)--fol 4v; Blochet, Catalog des manuscripts persans de la Bibliothèque nationale, 767.Date of manuscript: 1182 [1768]--fol. 41v."In the preface...Ikhtiyar el-Hosaïni declares that it was at the request of several of his friends that he undertook, in the year 912 AH, to write a work dealing with the conduct of sovereigns, and that he limited himself to summarizing the books which had already been composed on this subject, the Kitab el-taharet of Abou Ali Miskavaïh...the Akhlaq-i Nasiri of Nasir ed-Din el-Tousi...and the Kanoun el-siasset...The largest part of this political treatise is formed from an abridgement of the Kitab el-taharet and the Kanoun el-siasset...it is divided into 3 books [qānūn] subdivided into chapters [qāʻidah]; the first deals with moral improvement, the second, financial administration, and the third, with the way in which the sovereign must behave towards his sujels."--Blochet, Catalog of Persian manuscripts of the National Library, 767.Electronic reproduction.
